Role:

Experience required:

Providing proactive leadership and mentoring to surveyors within the CESD Operations Group.

Responsible for the production of drawings and support documentation to develop a Design pack for the project assigned ensuring compliance with quality and technical standards.

Use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office to create working drawings, floor plans, elevation drawings, site layout plans and associated support documentation under the direct supervision of the Cad Team Leader.

To maintain a high level of quality assurance in all works carried out and to ensure compliance to the design and security regulations specified for this work.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
· ONC/OND or equivalent qualification, preferably in an engineering or space planning discipline.
· Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD 2000, AutoCAD LT or other AutoCAD version
· Current SC clearance desirable.
· Understanding of other 3D and 2D CAD packages an advantage.
· Computer literate (knowledge of Word & Excel are essential)
· Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
· Attention to detail and the ability to apply logic and best working practice.
· An understanding of best Health & Safety practice with working knowledge of CDM regulations a distinct advantage.

KEY DUTIES:
· Provides support to the team and team leader.
· Complies with best office practice and procedures.
· Maintains the design production with the schedule established for the project.
· Assisting the Survey and Quality Control departments in the supply, revision, and document control of engineering designs.
· Produce designs and ‘as-built’ drawings compliant to the following documents:
o Network Installation Design Document (NIDD)
o Network Design Guidelines
o JSP 480
o Statement of works (SoW)
· To work to the guidelines and instructions specified in the CH2M HILL DII Design Manual
· To produce design support documentation from the information supplied from the survey team in Microsoft Excel including Bill of Materials, Wire Run Lists, and Patching Lists. Other support documents are to be produced in MS Word; they include Design Annexes.
· To apply yourself to training and development in order to understand other functions of the overall design process so as to provide support and resource in the overall design production.

Use AutoCAD and Microsoft Office to support the CAD technicians in the creation of installation design packs, floor plans, elevation drawings, site plans and associated support documentation for the project.

KEY DUTIES:
· Ensure that the Design production schedule is maintained and co-ordinate with the Project Controller on a daily basis to ensure that the design schedule is properly updated.
· Coordinate with the engineering, costing and scheduling teams to ensure all departments have vision of expected work to be started, completed and issued to client and provide support to each department with details of each project.
· To attend regular meetings with CAD Design and QA team to maintain best working practice, discuss schedules and ensure that work distribution is maintained allowing for project timescales to be met.
· To maintain a high level of quality assurance in all works carried out and to ensure compliance to the design and security regulations specified for this work.
· Providing daily supervision to CAD Technicians and the design team.
· Develop and propose standard design practices, best practice and procedures.
